Capitol Hill Healthcare wins second statewide excellence award

Capitol Hill Healthcare has been recognized as a 2019 recipient of the Commitment to Performance Excellence Award for its dedication to improving the lives of residents through quality care. The distinction is the first tier of three progressive award levels through the Alabama Performance Excellence Award Program (ALPEX). The program promotes quality and high performance for businesses and organizations in the state. Capitol Hill was one of four recipients for this award.

Last year, ALPEX named Capitol Hill as a winner of the 2018 Pathway to Performance Excellence award. The distinction is the introductory level of the program.

“The examiners and judges were very impressed with the commitment Capitol Hill has made to performance excellence,” wrote Linda Vincent, executive director of ALPEX, in a letter announcing the honor.

The award criteria are based on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. This internationally-recognized framework helps organizations across different business sectors improve organizational effectiveness and achieve strategy-driven performance.

According to the program, the Commitment to Performance Excellence Award is for “organizations that have made a serious commitment to use and implement performance excellence concepts and principles.”

Capitol Hill Healthcare will be recognized as an award recipient during the program’s annual conference scheduled for March 2-3, 2020 at the Capstone Hotel in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

“It’s wonderful to be recognized for a second time at a statewide level for our commitment to quality care,” Administrator Michael Burnett said. “The hard work and dedication of our staff make honors like this possible.”
